If you are one who loves the Bible you know that there is always the great desire to share this love with others. I myself wondered how to possibly incorporate the Word of God into the work of my hands: my soap. One day I had an idea of burying a Bible verse into a bar of soap so that God's Word could offer words of hope, comfort and challenge to people as it has to me. And thus, scripture soap was born. After a bit of trial and error in perfecting the technique I discovered a way to do just that. Now I am offering these unique soaps here. As of yet and to my knowledge there are no other soaps like these in the world! These bars of soap each contain a unique line from scripture embedded in the middle of them. There are over 100 different verses so it is unlikely that anyone would ever get the same verse twice. They make a very thoughtful gift because they remind us to always keep what is the most important before us: God.Lavender Scripture Soap
Here's a nice, lightly scented soap with pretty layers. When you get to the center of the soap you will discover an inspirational scripture passage that will remind you of God's constant care and love for you. You will notice on this soap, as on many other of my soaps an "ashy" covering. This is a normal occurrence in cold-process, handcrafted soap. Some soapmakers prefer to remove it but I like it to say for a couple of reasons: first, it is still soap and why not get the whole thing, and second, your soap will only become more beautiful with use as you wash away this outer layer. It seemed some years back that many had re-discovered a way of reading the Bible called Lectio Divina. The premise was reading and re-reading a given passage from scripture with time in between for silence and meditation in order to allow the Holy Spirit to speak to you in helping you to bring the nuggets of truth into your own life and experience. Traced back to St. Benedict, this has been a time tested and fruitful way of reading and praying with scripture. Well, now Mundare Soaps is introducing Lavatio Divina, roughly translated as "divine washing". This soap is very lightly scented with an aqua Pier One type fragrance. A tisket, a tasket...I really am pleased with the scent of this one: sweet and fresh. My mom couldn't wait to get her hands on this one.... Brand new, I think it will be very popular. This is my first scripture soap to be made with goat milk and it's also enriched with cocoa butter. I have a couple of new scripture soaps aimed specifically for the guys although I think many women would like this one as well. The scent is lightly musky, earthy, warm and somewhat Oriental. Colored tan and brown. When the brown layer wears down, an inspirational line of scripture will appear. Very cool.
