No More Goats at
Whey Better Farm
: (

Whey Better Farm in northwestern Connecticut began about eight years ago when my husband came home with my daughter carrying two baby Nigerian Dwarf goats. Although somewhat unexpected I couldn't stay mad for long. How could I with such cute little animals? Having goats has enriched our lives in ways that we never could have imagined. For one thing, this web site probably would not exist if it hadn't been for our "girls". And I probably would not have thought to get into soap making without their wonderfully rich milk.

Well, the goats are now gone - sold to a wonderful family the next town over where I am sure they will get a lot of love and attention. The soapmaking continues, however...

Spring and Summer Was the
Time For New Babies!

Here's Fred, who was our last addition to Whey Better Farm, born on July 18th, 2011. He's pictured here in this photo with his sister, Camilla:

I sure will miss those cute kids and doting mamas. But, as they say, nothing on this earth lasts forever...

Carmelita and Little Bud were our first babies. Aren't they cute? Having goats was a wonderful experience. If it had not have been for our goats we would not have ever met the great friends we have made in 4H. The responsibility and joy of owning dairy goats also greatly enriched my children's growing up years.
